If You Find Yourself Saying I Can’t Because You Don’t Have The Resources Watch This
How many times have you said I can’t because…
- Because you don’t have the money to start a business
- Because you have kids and need the safety of your job
- Because you don’t know how
- Because it’s impossible
Because is the worst word in the English language. It’s always used in a contrary manner giving you the excuse of not being able to do something. If you can dream it or think about it, you can do it. Or at least take a shot at doing it.
I came across this video on the TED Talks app. I was sitting waiting for my wife and son to head off to his soccer tournament. I had about ten minutes to kill and searched the TED app for motivational messages less than five minutes, and the video above was the only one to show up.
The title was intriguing considering I was looking for a motivational video. After watching it and an immediate smile came to my face. I then started thinking about all the things I have put off in my life because I felt I could not do them. Or I thought I didn’t know how to do them because they were too hard. Then I started thinking about all the people in this country the USA that have so much and complain about the little things. Here is a young man who read an instruction manual on how to build a windmill and not only built it but build it better.
This 15-year-old boy had a problem; he needed electricity in his families home to power a few lights and some radios. Rather than sit back and say he could never build a windmill because… Instead of making excuses he created one and not with state of the art materials and a big budget. In fact, he had no budget and no store-bought materials. He built it with what he had, and it worked.
His next mission is to build a bigger windmill to help his entire village. This is one of the most inspirational stories I have heard in a long time. At the time this video was shot he is 19 years old and accomplishing little tasks that will change the world where he is from.
It’s a very moving video and should be shared with everyone you know including your children.
